Branding

Project 3

With a team of 5, we created a non-profit and branded it. Our non-profit was called YAA, and it is meant to serve k-8 students as a free art program to introduce them to arts.

What is YAA?

Why?

Art helps you express yourself, it’s good for mental health, and it shouldn’t come secondary in public education.

How?

Adding art program run by local facility/school to make it accessible for kids who have after school obligations. There will be tutorial/educational videos on website, with a free digital art tool to increase accessibility. Students will get free art supplies so that they don’t have to worry about the startup cost, it’s covered!

Mission.

YAA aims to focus,, grow, and inspire the creative spirit that dwells in growing adolescents. We strive to raise awareness about the benefits of art and make art a more integrated part of children’s lives.

How YAA helps.

We give out free art kits to students, as well as using a mobile art truck that hands out art supplies and provides fun art activities; as well as providing a virtual drawing tool for kids to improve their skill sets.

What we will make

We will design a logo, website, a free online design tool, art kits, and a mobile van.

Takeaway.

I really enjoyed working with my team on this project. We had great communication and collaboration. Our idea came from a place of love and a shared experience between us and when we first started art. We saw how much joy it brought to our lives and how we felt when the fundings for the arts were cut and we lost it. To be able to come up with the visual language of a organization that was created from a place of love was a great experience, and I felt that we really related our lives to what we were designing for the next generation to use. I loved

doing the digital experiences for this project. I only wish I had explored more with the website, as keeping it kid and adult friendly was an interesting challenge.
